Free 100 Envelope Challenge Tracker (Google Sheets)
A free 100 envelope challenge tracker for Google Sheets, set up for 2027. Tick an envelope each time you set that amount aside, and the sheet shows what you’ve saved, what’s left to reach $5,050 and how many envelopes are still empty.
What is this free 100 envelope challenge tracker?
The 100 Envelope Challenge Tracker is a free Google Sheets template for the savings challenge where you fill 100 envelopes, from $1 to $100, until you’ve saved $5,050. You tick a box for each envelope you fill, and the sheet adds up your savings, what’s left and your progress. It costs $0, and Gumroad asks for your email (no credit card) to send the link.

Take a look inside
The actual spreadsheet you’ll get, shown with a few envelopes already filled.

See your progress at the top
Five cards add up what you’ve saved, what’s left to reach $5,050, your percent complete and how many envelopes are filled and still empty. The gold bar grows as you go.

Tick a box, watch it turn green
Every envelope from $1 to $100 sits in one 10 × 10 grid. Set an amount aside, tick the box under it and that envelope turns green. Any order works.

Pick a date, no typing
Double-click the gold start date and click a day in the calendar. The finish date at one envelope a day fills in on its own. Typed text is turned away, so the start date cell only takes a date.
What’s inside

Why a tracker helps you finish
Small things that make 100 envelopes easier to finish.
No more counting envelopes. The total adds itself up the moment you tick a box, so you don’t have to open them to count.
Pick the envelope that fits the week. Tight week? Tick a small one. Payday? Go for a big one. The grid shows which ones are still open.
Green means done. Filled envelopes change color, so the empty ones stand out at a glance.
The finish line stays in view. The gold bar and the left-to-save card show how close you are to $5,050.
No cash in the house? Move each amount into a savings account instead of an envelope. The tracker works the same way.
Ready for January. The start date is set to January 1, 2027, so a New Year’s savings goal is one tick away. Change the date any time.
You don’t need to know spreadsheets. You pick one date from a calendar and click checkboxes. Every formula is already built.
Save together. Share your copy with a partner and you both see the same envelopes from your phones.
FAQ
Is the 100 envelope challenge tracker really free?
Yes. Type $0 in the price box at checkout and it’s yours. If it helps, you can leave an optional tip of about the price of a coffee, but you never have to.
Do I need to enter my email?
Yes. Checkout runs through Gumroad, which asks for your email so it can send your download link. No credit card is needed when you choose $0.
How does the 100 envelope challenge work?
You number 100 envelopes from $1 to $100 and fill them in any order, putting in the amount written on each one. When all 100 are full, you’ve saved $5,050. The tracker replaces counting the envelopes: tick a box and the totals update.
How long does it take?
That depends on your pace. One envelope a day takes 100 days, two a week takes 50 weeks, and one a week takes 100 weeks. The tracker shows the finish date at one envelope a day.
Do I need real envelopes or cash?
No. You can move each amount into a savings account instead. The tracker works the same whether you use cash envelopes or a bank account.
What do I actually receive?
An instant PDF download with a link to the Google Sheet. Click it to make your own copy, which saves to your Google Drive. You need a free Google account. The checkboxes only work in your own copy.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Make your copy in a browser first, then open it in the free Google Sheets app and tap a checkbox to tick it.
What’s the difference between the free and PRO versions?
The free tracker covers one challenge: 100 envelopes from $1 to $100. The Savings Challenge Tracker ($6.99, also Google Sheets) tracks six challenges in one sheet (52 week, biweekly, 100 envelope, 26 week, a custom goal and a no-spend calendar), with a dashboard that adds up your totals and shows your next deposit date and amount. Its 100 envelope tab lets you choose half ($2,525), classic ($5,050) or double ($10,100) envelopes and picks a random next envelope from the ones you haven’t filled.
Can I get a refund?
The template itself is free. Optional tips go with an instant digital download, so all tips and purchases are final and refunds aren’t offered. If anything about your file doesn’t work as described, send a message through our contact form and we’ll help you get it sorted.
